Searching For The "Write" Idea

There's nothing like reading a good fiction book. You know the kind. The ones that make you feel like you should never have to turn that last page. They are the ones that make us laugh and cry. The ones you can't wait to recommend to a friend or that make you go searching for another book by the same author. Yes, there's nothing better, is there? But there is! It's writing a book that makes other people feel those emotions.

A Little Background, If You Please

"The Dragons of Shadara" by Stanley Allen SwansonAs I previously mentioned, I have been writing for quite some time. I have written several pieces of fiction including short stories for children, children's picture books, children's poetry, novels for younger audiences and short stories and novels for adults. I have one published novel, The Dragons of Shadara, for young adults. My second novel (also for young adults) should be published before the end of the year. (The Misadventures of Hobart Hucklebuck will be published by Stony Meadow Publishing.) I have three unpublished picture books as well as a mainstream novel that remains unpublished. I tell you this to let you know that I am indeed a writer and not just some internet nut looking to make a few dollars. Aside from my work, I have hundreds and hundreds of ideas just floating around in desk drawers and on closet shelves. And now I am making many of these ideas available to other authors.
